Riverbank Restaurant Group began with our very first restaurant, In Riva, meaning “along the banks” in Italian. In 2011, real estate developer Mark Sherman teamed up with renowned chef, Arthur Cavaliere, to unveil a one-of-a-kind culinary experience Philadelphia had yet to encounter. With their strong trust and loyalty to each other, they created what has become one of the most unique and celebrated restaurants in all of the tri-state area. Inspired by its location along the banks of the Schuylkill River, In Riva was born.

In 2016, the duo opened Foghorn, a casual fried chicken eatery just steps away from In Riva. Foghorn offered Chef Cavaliere’s signature “Philly style” fried chicken, along with homemade sides inspired by his grandfather’s recipes. In 2021, Foghorn transformed into Foghorn & Fletcher, and added juicy burgers and creamy milkshakes to the mix.

In 2021, Sherman and Chef Cavaliere launched their third culinary venture, The Black Squirrel Pub and Haunt, also in East Falls. This British style pub offers decadent versions of classic pub dishes along with introducing new, rotating favorites.

The newest member of the family, The Record Kitchen + Bar, is a collaboration between Chef Cavaliere, Mark Sherman, and Lane Udis of Mark Lane Properties, and has made its home in Coatesville, PA. The Record Kitchen + Bar offers contemporary fare, wood fired pizza, local beer, and craft cocktails.
